Appearance: Clarke is of average height and build and wouldn't appear remarkable from anyone else if it weren't for her hair. Her hair is very, very blond and if not taken care of, it knots and curls and can look ridiculously pretty. It's hard to blend in when you're wearing a beacon on the top of your head. But she is deceptively spirited and cannot be easily pushed around. She's wiry and lean, but there's power there. She can go a great distance without needing rest, even when injured, if only by sheer, stubborn determination.

Abby has no siblings, though she might consider Wells Jaha her brother. Her family and twenty others survived the bombings inside a bunker deep within the Apennines mountains in Northern Italy. The lack of food coming from outside the bunker made them impose a strict one child policy to conserve what little they had. There was always a plan in place to return to the surface when it became safe, but by all accounts it never was. What they didn't know was there had been a small breach in their sanctuary that has been leaking radiation for years, becoming a normal reading when more rigorous tests of the outside world began.

Bio: Clarke was raised by her mother and father within one of several underground bunkers in the Apennine Mountains. She was well loved, and her family was respected amongst those represented to lead their tiny society. Her life seemed pretty straight forward. She got good grades, apprenticed with her mother to learn medicine and had good friends. Her parents were both on the council and were well liked by many they lived with.

So, of course, things had to go wrong.

There were lies.

Betrayals.

And suddenly Clarke's perfect life became a kind of living hell. Her father got floated. A stupid term for a stupid practice that involved banishing people onto the surface to die, and Clarke's perfect life swirled away from her.

When she learned there was a chance to get to the surface herself, she made it a point to get in trouble. She and her mom were barely on speaking terms, and her ex-best friend volunteered to go with her. No one was sure the surface was safe enough to travel on, but Clarke wasn't going to repent, and she was going to go find her father.
